The IMYC is designed to meet the specific development needs of 11-14 year olds, specifically, adolescents learn to find meaningful connections or links between and amongst subject areas; they need to be meaning maker, constructing their own understandings; they increasingly need a voice in their learning choices and they need to develop the confidence to take on challenges and risks in their learning.

The IMYC units revolve around a “big idea” and can be interdisciplinary in nature or stand along in a subject area.
