Canada Prince Edward Island Certification

 

The Royal Canadian School in Cairo is one of Canada’s Prince Edward Island Affiliated schools

The Royal Canadian School in Cairo is a Prince Edward Island (PEI) Certified Offshore School. As such, RCS is a private school in the Canadian Prince Edward Island System. It must undergo the same certification process as all private schools in the Canadian Province of Prince Edward Island. Certification is the process through which the Prince Edward Island (PEI) Ministry of Education grants approval for private schools to start and monitors their operations and implementation of every aspect of the PEI Education System.

 

RCS students are students of the Prince Edward Island Ministry of Education

Every student registered in RCS is a PEI Ministry of Education student and has a unique student number with the Ministry. 

It is referred to as the Personal Education Number (PEN).

 

RCS graduates receive their High School Diploma from the Prince Edward Island Ministry of Education
in Canada

To graduate from RCS, students must successfully meet the requirements of the PEI Ministry of Education Graduation Program (G10-G12). 

RCS graduates receive a world-renowned Canadian Graduation Certificate issued by the PEI Ministry of Education itself. 

The school is also recognized and registered with the Ministry of Education in Egypt to grant high school diplomas.

 

Prince Edward Island Ministry of Education thoroughly inspects RCS every year

RCS is thoroughly inspected by the PEI Ministry of Education. The inspection includes around multiple aspects, such as RCS’s adherence to the PEI Curriculum, 

instructional approaches and assessment system and the commitment that school leadership and teachers are all licensed from the PEI Ministry of Education.

It prepares a community of learners to engage with global challenges through inquiry, action and reflection.

 

The DP Curriculum

•  The DP curriculum is made up of six subject groups and the DP core, comprising theory of knowledge (TOK), creativity, activity, service (CAS) and the extended essay.

•  Through the DP core, students reflect on the nature of knowledge, complete independent research and undertake a project that often involves community service.

 

The IB uses both external and internal assessment in the DP.

1. 6 DP Subjects (7 points EACH ): 42 points

2. Extra Points (TOK, CAS, and EE): 3 points

3. Total Possible: 45 points

4. Minimum Points required = 24 points (With conditions)
